PADI Assistant Instructor Course

The PADI assistant instructor course is a great choice for Divemasters who are ready to take on more responsibility but do not have the time for, or do not feel ready for, the full PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). The IDC can be conducted as the first week of the IDC, or as a standalone program on it’s own. Assistant Instructors who wish to complete the balance of the IDC and attend the IE need only attend the OWSI course at a later date.

Assistant Instructors can conduct a range of PADI programs and experiences independently, and have the opportunity to assist PADI Instructors on PADI courses, gaining valuable hands on experiences before continuing their own training. It is an intensive course and is intended to challenge you. We will take all that you learned as a PADI Divemaster, and teach you how to pass that onto others. You will develop new skills in the classroom and water, and be evaluated as you go.

The PADI Assistant Instructor Course is made up of independent study by way of e-learning, instructor-led classroom presentations, student-led classroom presentations, confined water development sessions, and open water presentations. It is a challenging course, prior to starting your skills and knowledge should be at the same level that was required for you to pass your Divemaster training, if you have any concerns about that please let us know and we will arrange some refresher sessions for you.

The minimum age to enroll on this program is 18 years old, a certified diver for at least 6 months, a PADI Divemaster (or equivalent), and have logged at least 60 dives. Before attending the course students are required to have a medical screening by a licensed physician, you will need to present the course director a signed medical clearance form before any training. Please note that medical facilities in Moalboal are basic, we highly recommend you take a professional dive orientated medical before leaving your home country. If you would like to do your medical here in Moalboal, please let us know, this will need to be done before the program starts.

Comparing all of the different dive centers, the different locations, and all of the package options is confusing enough, so we’ll try and make it as simple as possible. If you find the same offer advertised for cheaper nearby, let us know, we will match any offer we can verify. Now, with the worry of paying too much out of the way, you can relax and focus on finding the best course for you.

This is a one week program, we can arrange for your course to start at any time, subject to the instructors availability, but these courses are always more fun and informative when you have study buddies. We suggest you join the first week of one of our IDC programs, start by checking our scheduled events first and seeing if there is a program running that fits in with your plans. If not don’t worry, we can create a new one for you and search for some students to join your program.

We offer training through our bases with Dive Moalboal in the Philippines, and with DiveStyle in the UK, packages vary slightly between the two locations so please refer to our rates page where you will find pricing info for both locations. If you have any questions at all do not hesitate to get in touch with us via the contact page, or any of the social media options found on the top and bottom of this page.
