The PADI Divemaster course is made up of three distinctive parts. The first is academics, this is a combination of independent study using e-learning and instructor-led presentations in the classroom, if you have the opportunity to do so we recommend completing the e-learning prior to your arrival, but we can arrange for this whilst you are here if need be. Secondly, we have in-water training, we take those skills you have been learning since your open water course, and help you refine those into expert level, demonstration quality skills. Finally comes hands-on experience, we’ll have you working with our crew, and putting everything you learned from us into action. The first two weeks follow a preformatted schedule designed for you to get the most from your time with us, the next two weeks varies a bit as you will be working with actual students in training, and certified divers out on trips. If you wish to stay longer, you can add additional weeks to your training package.
You will need to be a Rescue Diver, and hold a valid CPR and First Aid Certificate, valid means issued or renewed in the last 24 months, we can add this to your training if required. You will need a minimum of 40 logged (non-training) scuba dives to enter the program, and a minimum of 60 prior to being certified. Before attending the course students are required to have a medical screening by a licensed physician, you will need to present the course director a signed medical clearance form before any training. Please note that medical facilities in Moalboal are basic, we highly recommend you take a professional dive orientated medical before leaving your home country. If you would like to do your medical here in Moalboal, please let us know, this will need to be done before the program starts.
Comparing all of the different dive centers, the different locations, and all of the package options is confusing enough, so we’ll try and make it as simple as possible. If you find the same offer advertised for cheaper nearby, let us know, we will match any offer we can verify. Now, with the worry of paying too much out of the way, you can relax and focus on finding the best course for you.
We can arrange for your course to start at any time, subject to the instructors availability, but these courses are always more fun and informative when you have study buddies, so we suggest you start by checking our scheduled events first and seeing if there is a program running that fits in with your plans. If not don’t worry, we can create a new one for you and search for some students to join your program. The suggested duration for our programs is one month, depending on your time constraints and diving experience we may be able to shorten that if needs be, if you wish to extend you have the option to purchase additional weeks and add them to your package.
